Yang Jianxiong, image producer
Born in Yichang, Hubei in 1991, Jianxiong graduated from the Sculpture Department of Xiamen University in 2014, and now lives and works in Xiamen. Yang’s creation wanders between artists and ordinary people, reminding him that he can look at what is happening in front of him in a more justified way.

Born on June 9th, 1991

I studied at the Multimedia Department at the Art college of Xiamen University, China. Later I obtained another bachelor degree in VAV-Moving image from Gerrit Rietveld Academie, the Netherlands.

My work observes the process of making something, which can be a step of filming making or a tiny accident such as a mouse ate my bread inside the locker, sometimes even during my own artist practice making can be deconstructed as a process.

Ye mostly works with video, performance and installation.
He studied at Muti-media apartment from Art college of Xiamen University, China. Later study another bachelor in VAV-Moving image from Gerrit Rietveld Academie, The Netherlands.

It’s a child’s play

Yveline Etienne lives and works in France. She exhibited in France and also during artistic residency abroad as in Mexico (2013, 2015) and in China today. She is invited by the Arquetopia Foundation with which she collaborates regularly to participate in a showcase in Mexico in October 2018.

Yang Zhiqian was born in 1993 in Hunan, China. She graduated from Xiamen University (XMU) Art College in 2014 and earned a BA degree in designing. Currently, she is working at her MA degree Multi-media department of XMU Art College. Meanwhile, she is also studying glassware making at Gerrit Rietveld Academie in the Netherlands. Her work is included in the International Handwerksmesse Munich (IHM), TALENT International Competition Special Exhibition, China Nanjing AMNUA Contemporary Youth Item Design Group Exhibition, and the Holland Apprentice Master International Art Project.

fashion design project

Ýr Þrastardóttir has been working as a fashion designer since she graduated from the Icelandic Academy of the Arts in 2011. Yr was selected out of her graduating class to participate on behalf of Iceland in DESIGNERS NEST during Copenhagen Fashion Week in 2011. Yr has participated three times at the REYKJAVIK FASHION FESTIVAL, 2011, 2012 and 2015. She has held two solo exhibitions under her label YR, at the Reykjavík Fashion Festival. Last spring she exhibited a new and exciting clothing collection under the fashion label called ANOTHER CREATION.

After successful presentations of Loud & Clear the Bifrons Foundation will continue its travel along venues in Europe and Asia with Loud & Clear TOO. In the past years Loud & Clear has generated a lot of attention in different countries since its world premiere in BALTIC, Gateshead (GB) and has stirred up a lively discussion since. This unique project with visual artists, composers and publicity designers has been enlarged and extended with 5 more video films.

Yangah Ham was born in Seoul, South Korea and lived in New York City from 1994 to 2002. She studied at Seoul National University and New York University. She participated in Kwangju Biennale (2002) and exhibited in ArtPace, San Antonio(2000), De Appel in Amsterdam(2003).

“Our lives as human-beings are largely based on illusion and fantasy created by either individual or society. A dream made by fantasy could direct one person’s life. Even the metaphysical elements that shape society as laws, norms, cultures, art and religion come from an individual fantasy that is shared or, namely, a collective fantasy. I’ve been asking why and how human beings create alternative world and prefer to live in the world. Is it escapism? Is it desire for happiness that fills lacks of life? Is it a way of surviving in the midst of harsh living conditions? ”
